The reprised Chattering Bone is a Lightweight pulse rifle which as a subfamily are currently rated D-Tier for endgame PvE by @TheAegisRelic Endgame Analysis spreadsheet in https://www.destiny2.science/ as "essentially just a worse high-impact auto". The frame intrinsic offers built-in anti-Overload, and +20 to the hidden Mobility stat and ×1.0625 base movement speed as per the https://www.destiny2.science/ Destiny Data Compendium. The stats are decent by comparison with its peers - you can see the stats at https://destiny.report/w/830651379/chattering-bone and hopefully https://d2foundry.gg/w/830651379 will show how weapon stats impact in-game performance when the site is back up and running. The recoil is right and loose, so to tighten that up, look for a barrel perk that helps with Recoil Direction or, if you can handle it just go for extra handling, and then with the magazine perk go for something that helps improve magazine size or reload. For clearing groups of adds, in the first trait perk column Bewildering Burst procs for 6s (7s when enhanced) after finishing a reload following a kill, and then on the next hit launches a kinetic flashbang above the target that does damage and disorients enemies within 9m for 3.5s. In the second column, to pair with that, and clean up the stunned enemies, Chaos Reshaped stacks up to ×2 on dealing or receiving damage within a 5s window for at least 12s (11.5s when enhanced) - at ×1 it provides a ×1.2 damage boost for a refreshable 7s and then at ×2 provides ×1.35 damage for a refreshable 7s together with a healing burst of up to 35HP that also starts health regeneration, Kinetic Tremors emits three 6m AoE Kinetic shockwaves after 11 hits (10 when enhanced) within 3s of each other, which are treated as weapon damage so inherit damage boosts, or One For All boosts damage by ×1.35 for a non-refreshable 10s (11s when enhanced) after hitting three separate targets within 3s of each. The Elliptical Orbit origin trait passively grants Inner Orbit, boosting Stability, Reload Speed and Flinch Resist and, after sprinting for 1.5s procs Outer Orbit for 3s to boost Ammo Generation. Alternatively, Explosive Pact grants stacks up to ×5 on grenade use and grenade kills (or healing orb pickups for healing grenades) to boost Stability, Reload Speed and Reload Animation Scalar for 7.5s. If you're interested, the name refers to the eerie, whispering voice heard by the bearers of a dead Ahamkara's bones, tricking them into making deals. Recommended MW: Handling, with your preferred choice of mod to boost weapon stats, ammo generation, or elemental pickups for builds.

For tougher adds you can roll double damage trait perks. In the first column Kill Clip boosts damage by ×1.2 for 5s (5.5s when enhanced) when reloading within 3.7s of a kill. In the second column, to combine with that, Chaos Reshaped stacks up to ×2 on dealing or receiving damage within a 5s window for at least 12s (11.5s enhanced) - at ×1 it provides a ×1.2 damage boost for a refreshable 7s and then at ×2 provides ×1.35 damage for a refreshable 7s together with a healing burst of up to 35HP that also starts health regeneration, Kinetic Tremors emits three 6m AoE Kinetic shockwaves after 11 hits (10 enhanced) within 3s of each other, which are treated as weapon damage so inherit Kill Clip's damage boost, or One For All boosts damage by ×1.35 for a non-refreshable 10s (11s enhanced) after hitting three separate targets within 3s of each. For clearing groups of adds, in the first trait perk column Attrition Orbs spawns a power orb after ~22 hits within 5s of each other to proc armour mods. In the second column, to pair with that, Kinetic Tremors emits three 6m AoE Kinetic shockwaves after ~11 hits (~10 when enhanced) within 3s of each other, which are treated as weapon damage so inherit damage boosts and also proc weapon effects like Attrition Orbs' orb generation.
