Unwavering Duty is an adaptive LMG, which are rated B-Tier for endgame PvE by @TheAegisRelic Endgame Analysis Spreadsheet, who says "technically a strict downgrade to aggressive damage profile, but barrier intrinsic is noticeable". The frame intrinsic offers built in Anti-Barrier, but offers no bonuses beyond being "well-rounded, reliable and sturdy" as per the Destiny Data Compendium. The recoil direction is just to the right of vertical and pretty tight so you could improve recoil control or look to boost Stability with the barrel perk to help hit crits, or boost Handling if you can land your shots. In the magazine perk slot, perks that improve Reload Speed or mag size work best for a boss damage roll. For sustained boss damage, in the first trait perk column Fourth Time's the Charm generates 2 shots from thin air after 4 crits within 3s of each other, almost doubling your total ammo if you can keep hitting crits, or Envious Assassin overflows the magazine to up to ×3 capacity at 12.5% of base size per kill with primary weapons and 22.5% with specials before readying. Alternatively, Auto-Loading Holster refills the magazine 3.3s after stowing. In the second column, Bait and Switch boosts damage by ×1.3 for 11s for doing damage with your other two weapons, Killing Tally gains a stack for each enemy killed during an add phase up to ×3 to boost damage by up to ×1.3 until you reload or stow, or Target Lock stacks up to 5 times on repeated hits within 0.2s of each other for up to ×1.4 damage at 110.33% of base magazine capacity - so works well with overflowed or auto-refilled magazines. There are three origin traits to choose from. Aegis rates the Roar of Battle as D-Tier for PvE - it grants +10 Stability and Handling for 6s after dealing or taking damage every 0.5s or so for 2s. Other options are the E-Tier Suros Synergy, which grants +30 Handling and ×1.2 flinch resistance for 6s after reloading, and the F-Tier Fleet Footed which stacks up to ×1 on hits and ×2 on kills to boost movement speed and Airborne Effectiveness for a refreshable 6s. If you're interested, the name has a direct, bittersweet deeper meaning rooted in the weapon's lore tab, reflecting the core thematic struggles of the Trials of Osiris team composed of Aisha, Reed-7, and Shayura, and represents the literal obligation and heavy psychological burden placed upon a Guardian’s shoulders, particularly when it comes to holding their traumatized allies accountable or protecting them. Recommended MW: Handling, with your preferred choice of mod to boost weapon stats, ammo generation, or elemental pickups for builds.

In the first trait perk column, Rampage stacks up to ×3 on kills for ×1.331 damage for a refreshable 5s, with the stacks decaying one at a time or, for Solar builds, Incandescent spreads +30 Solar Scorch stacks within 4m on a red bar Minor add kill (+45 stacks within 8m for orange and yellow bars), with scorch damage counting as weapon damage so can inherit damage boosts, and also proc subclass fragments. All of the scorch stacks are increased by ×1.5 with Ember of Ashes. In the second column, Killing Tally gains a stack for each enemy killed during an add phase up to ×3 to boost damage by up to ×1.3 until you reload or stow, or Onslaught, while not boosting damage per shot does increase raw DPS as you ramp up to the max ×3 stacks, for a refreshable 5s per kill, to increase RPM from 450 to around 720. There are three origin traits to choose from. Aegis rates the Roar of Battle as D-Tier for PvE - it grants +10 Stability and Handling for 6s after dealing or taking damage every 0.5s or so for 2s. Unwavering Duty is an adaptive frame, which is unfortunately towards the bottom of the LMG subfamily (3rd out of 4) for damage output. At base, by comparison with its peers, the stats are decent, and are improved further at Tier 4/5 when barrel and mag perks are enhanced - d2foundry.gg calculates that 58 Range equates to 29.79m hipfire and 47.67m ADS before damage dropoff, 60 Stability is ×1.1000 flinch resist, 50 Handling is a 0.38s ready, 0.40s ADS and 0.35s stow speed and 64 Reload Speed is a 4.54s reload. According to MossyMax's spreadsheet on destiny.science, Magazine Size is 55 (max 75) and total ammo is 375 (max 379). With the barrel perk, control the recoil to make crits easier, while maximise mag size with the magazine perk. For a Boss DPS roll, you'll need something that makes the mag as big as possible - Fourth Time's the Charm for 2 shots loaded from reserves after 4 crits within 2s (3s when enhanced) of each other, Envious Assassin to overflow the magazine to ×3 capacity if you can get 20 kills in an add phase, or Auto-Loading Holster to refill the magazine after stowing for 3.5s (3.3s enhanced). For damage, in the second column, Bait and Switch boosts damage by ×1.3 for 10s (11s enhanced) for doing damage with your other two weapons. The Fleet Footed Origin Trait's additional Airborne Effectiveness and Movement Speed are more of a PvP perk. Roar of Battle's +10 Handling and Stability is better, but unspectacular, or there's Suros Synergy which procs on a reload to provide +40 Handling and ×1.2 Flinch Resistance for 6s. Recommended MW: Handling or Stability, with your preferred choice of mod/enhanced mod to boost mag size, weapon stats, ammo regeneration, or elemental pickups for builds - and don't forget to check any available seasonal fragile mods.
