Something Something is an aggressive sniper rifle, which are rated C-Tier for endgame PvE by @TheAegisRelic tiering spreadsheet https://linktr.ee/TheAegisRelic offering high damage per shot but still usually outclassed by rapid-fire frames. The frame intrinsic offers no bonuses as per the https://www.destiny2.science/ Destiny Data Compendium. The stats are solid by comparison with its peers - hopefully when the website's back https://d2foundry.gg/w/3421075982 will show how the weapon stats impact in-game performance. First priority with the barrel perk is Handling, and then with the magazine perk look for something that helps improve magazine size without penalising reload. For a special weapon option towards the end of a boss fight, possibly for final stand if you've run out of heavy ammo, you have a double damage perk option of Stopping Power in the first trait perk column which provides increased stagger and Aim Assist, and increased damage on low health enemies - ×1.07 when health is below 34%, ×1.1 when <23% and ×1.15 when <18%. In the second column as the main damage perk, Elemental Honing grants an escalating stack of damage up to ×1.4 for 20s (23s when enhanced) for each elemental damage type inflicted, which can be refreshed with a new damage type until you've run through all 5. There's also Kinetic Tremors emits three 6m AoE Kinetic shockwaves after 3 hits (2 when enhanced) within 3s of each other, which are treated as weapon damage so inherit damage boosts. Finally, there's All-Star which boosts damage by ×1.35 and Reload Speed by +100 for a refreshable 6s (7s enhanced) after picking up a special brick, or 9s (10s enhanced) for a heavy brick, with the timer starting only after you ready. The Vanguard Vindication origin trait provides up to ×3 stacks that reduces incoming damage at max to ×0.94 for a refreshable 10s (12.5s when enhanced), on kills within 20s of using a class ability. If you're interested, it's thought the name is from "Something, Something, Something, Dark Side", the Family Guy parody of The Empire Strikes Back. Recommended MW: Handling, with a Backup Mag mod.

First priority with the barrel perk is Handling, and then with the magazine perk look for something that helps improve magazine size - ideally you're aiming for 5 shots with this roll. For end-game use, Triple Tap in the first trait perk column generates one ammo from thin air for hitting three crits within 2s (3s when enhanced) of each other - so a magazine of 5 means you can fire 2 additional free shots without reloading if you land your crits. In the second column, for damage with a Prismatic subclass, Elemental Honing grants an escalating stack of damage up to ×1.4 for 20s (23s when enhanced) for each elemental damage type inflicted, which can be refreshed with a new damage type until you've run through all 5. "At first glance this looks pretty underwhelming, and tbh given its archetype it kind of is.

    BarrelFluted Barrel

    Trait 1Triple Tap
    Trait 2Elemental Honing

However it isn't all doom and gloom. This can get a rather interesting DPS roll, which obviously you want to pair with the Accelerated Assault origin trait. This precise roll will be very rare, and niche in use case, so don't sweat it if you can't get this." Recommended MW: Reload.
