Dawn Far Off is an aggressive LMG, which are rated B-Tier for endgame PvE by @TheAegisRelic Endgame Analysis Spreadsheet, who says "best balance of DPS and total amongst LMGs, stagger intrinsic good". The frame intrinsic offers built in Anti-Unstoppable, but no other benefit as per the Destiny Data Compendium. The recoil direction is just right of vertical and quite tight, so you could improve recoil control or look to boost Stability to help hit crits, or just boost Handling if you can land your shots. In the magazine perk slot, any of the combat effect mags, or perks that improve Reload Speed or mag size are fine. For clearing Minor adds, in the first trait perk column, Subsistence reloads 20% of the magazine on kills, so you'll never have to worry about reloads, or Light Touch boosts Handling and Reload Speed, and provides an ADS scalar while you're Amplified or Radiant, or Devour is active. Alternatively, Attrition Orbs spawns a power orb after 33 hits within 5s of each other to proc armour mods. In the second column for damage Killing Tally gains a stack for each enemy killed up to ×3 to boost damage by up to ×1.3 until you reload or stow, or Aggregate Charge provides a stack for each different elemental debuff up to ×3 stacks to boost damage by max ×1.33, with each stack lasting as long as the debuff is active. Aegis ranks the Dream Work origin trait as B-Tier - in a fireteam it can, once per reload, refill 66% of your magazine which can overflow it on killing an enemy that was already damaged by an ally. Recommended MW: Handling, with your preferred choice of mod to boost weapon stats, ammo generation, or elemental pickups for builds.

Alternatively, Attrition Orbs spawns a power orb after 33 hits within 5s of each other to proc armour mods. In the second column for damage Incandescent spreads +30 Solar Scorch stacks within 4m on a red bar Minor add kill (+45 stacks within 8m for orange and yellow bars). On Solar subclasses, all of the scorch stacks are increased by ×1.5 with Ember of Ashes. Or there's Meganeura builds up to ×3 stacks on crit hits for a refreshable 4s for solar AoE explosive damage in a 7.5m radius on a crit kill. Incandescent scorch kills and Meganeura explosion kills are treated as weapon damage so inherit damage boosts and also proc subclass fragments and weapon traits like Subsistence and Attrition Orbs' orb generation.

The recoil direction is just right of vertical and quite tight, so you could improve recoil control or look to boost Stability to help hit crits, or just boost Handling if you can land your shots. In the magazine perk slot, perks that improve mag size or Reload Speed work best for a boss damage roll. For sustained damage, in the first trait perk column Triple Tap generates one ammo from thin air for hitting three crits within 3s of each other, effectively adding ~50% to your total ammo if you can keep hitting crits. In the second column for damage Aggregate Charge provides a stack for each different elemental debuff up to ×3 stacks to boost damage by ×1.33, with each stack lasting as long as the debuff is active, Killing Tally gains a stack for each enemy killed up to ×3 to boost damage by up to ×1.3 until you reload or stow, or Target Lock stacks up to 5 times on repeated hits within 0.2s of each other for up to ×1.4 damage at 110.33% of base magazine capacity - so works well combined with Triple Tap and the origin trait.

In the magazine perk slot, any of the combat effect mags, or perks that improve Reload Speed or mag size are fine. For weapon-based application and progression of scorch into ignitions, you can roll both solar damage perk traits - Incandescent spreads +30 Solar Scorch stacks within 4m on a red bar Minor add kill (+45 stacks within 8m for orange and yellow bars), with scorch damage counting as weapon damage so can inherit damage boosts, and also proc subclass fragments, while Burning Ambition works better to build Solar ignitions on tougher targets if you have a solar ability like a Eunoia Helion to apply scorch initially, otherwise it'll take 27 hits within 2s of each other to apply +20 scorch stacks with +20 added on each additional hit to build towards an ignition. All of the scorch stacks are increased by ×1.5 with Ember of Ashes, and Dawn Chorus provides ×3 Scorch damage. Aegis ranks the Dream Work origin trait as B-Tier - in a fireteam it can, once per reload, refill 66% of your magazine which can overflow it on killing an enemy that was already damaged by an ally.
