Tap the TriggerSpaceMonkey (PvP / God-PvP): "This is a really hard weapon to evaluate for both PvE and PvP as it is our only Balanced Heat weapon (at least until the dungeon comes out). Remember that Balanced weapons need to be manually reloaded/vented just before overheating to get the massive reload bonus. If you're good at that little minigame then this is the best Peacekeepers DPS roll in the kinetic slot (you really want Accelerated Assault for that purpose). This is probably just fine in roam content so if you enjoy it go ahead. For PvP this could be quite good or excessively mediocre. It has the rolls for it, just a question of how the frame performs. After doing some testing basically any target lock fast talker with accelerated assault is slightly superior to antedate for peacekeepers dps. With that in mind if you go attrition orbs then you'll be consistently getting some good utility while doing a solid rotation. That being said cooling baubles has the potential to go absolutely nuts if you can pick up some orbs or elemental pickups while strafing and shooting: we're talking like 2-5x longer single mag than either antedate or a non-baubles fast talker. So the way to look at it is that cooling baubles won't always work, but the gun at base will still be slightly better than an antedate and it has the potential to every once in awhile go nuts on dps. Conversely attrition orbs has a lower ceiling but will more consistently pump out utility. Both good options, just depends on your roll and your personal preference." Recommended MW: Range, Handling, Stability.

Thermal AtomizationInspired by @CourtProjects, @Saint_Kabr and @ImpetusAlways (PvE PvE-MinorSpec PvE-God M+KB Controller): First-choice PvE roll against Minor adds in general at-level or better content. The M-17 "Fast Talker" is a Balanced Heat SMG which are rated C-Tier for endgame PvE by @TheAegisRelic tiering spreadsheet https://linktr.ee/TheAegisRelic, providing an intrinsic ×1.15 damage boost against orange and yellow bars and vehicles, plus a ×0.5 heat generation if you manually vent at >87.5% of maximum heat, as per the https://www.destiny2.science/ Destiny Data Compendium. The stats are decent by comparison with lightweight SMGs, which are the closest comparators - see https://d2foundry.gg/w/2770035786 for how the weapon stats impact in-game performance. Use the barrel perk to boost your preferred weapon stats - although remember range is very compressed on SMGs - but you might want a little extra recoil control or Stability on a controller. For the battery perk, Overclocked Heatsink provides free ×1.02 damage for a slightly slower vent speed - not a problem if you manually reload anyway - Particle Repeater helps Stability, or Light Heatsink or Tactical Heatsink improve gunfeel. In the first trait perk column Attrition Orbs spawns a power orb after 20-22 hits, depending on the Battery perk, within 5s of each other to proc armour mods, or Demolitionist is always handy to generate chunk grenade ability energy on kills, and an instant heat vent on grenade use. For a damage perk in the second column, there's the heat-weapon Thermal Atomization, which boosts damage by between ×1.08 and ×1.14 as heat increases from 50% to 100%, and then procs a 7.5m AoE Stasis explosion on a kill, or the more traditional options of Master of Arms or Sword logic to boost damage after a kill. For the Origin Trait Air-Cooled Core improves handling and ADS speed when heat is <10%, and boosts Vent Speed for 6s after sprinting. If you're very lucky you'll drop a weapon with the much better option of Accelerated Assault which passively reduces heat by 10% and boosts damage by ×1.05 for getting 3 hits within 1.6s. If you're interested, it's modelled after the DC-17m Interchangeable Weapon System used by Clone Commandos during the Clone Wars. Recommended MW: Handling or Stability, with your preferred choice of mod to boost heat generation, weapon stats, ammo regeneration, or elemental pickups for builds - and don't forget to check any available seasonal fragile mods.

For Stasis synergy, Crystalline Corpsebloom which procs on a kill to provide a 4s buff - kills with the buff active generate a stasis seeker which travels 3m before spawning a medium Stasis crystal (large when enhanced) to shatter for AoE damage and proc Stasis fragments. For the Origin Trait Air-Cooled Core improves handling and ADS speed when heat is <10%, and boosts Vent Speed for 6s after sprinting. Target LockInspired by @CourtProjects, @Saint_Kabr and @ImpetusAlways (PvE PvE-MinorSpec PvE-God PvE-EndGame M+KB Controller): First-choice PvE roll against Minor adds in both general at-level or better, and end-game underleveled content, particularly with Stasis subclasses. This, particularly with Titan Peacekeepers, should be a good primary to use in longer boss DPS phases to generate super energy, especially if you get the rare Accelerated Assault origin trait. For the Origin Trait Air-Cooled Core improves handling and ADS speed when heat is <10%, and boosts Vent Speed for 6s after sprinting. Target LockInspired by https://www.youtube.com/@Legoleflash (PvE PvE-MinorSpec PvE-God M+KB Controller): PvE god-roll for both super generation in boss DPS phases and single-target damage against tougher enemies in both general at-level or better, and end-game underleveled content. The M-17 "Fast Talker" is a Balanced Heat SMG which are rated C-Tier for endgame PvE by @TheAegisRelic tiering spreadsheet https://linktr.ee/TheAegisRelic, and which Lego describes as "a machine gun disguised as an SMG", demonstrated in his video (https://youtu.be/LldDti54Gwo?si=9j382iCFlMJE7tuF). The heat frame is like an extra perk set, first providing reduced heat generation, significantly increasing the number of shots before overheating, and providing a pseudo-Reconstruction, automatically "refilling" as the weapon loses heat when not being used. Balanced Heat weapons have a ×2 vent rate if you manually reload when the heat bar is at >87.5% of maximum heat to proc Perfect Vent, as per the https://www.destiny2.science/ Destiny Data Compendium. Additionally, this offers the +20 Mobility stat boost and ×1.0625 base movement speed of a Lightweight frame. The stats package is one of the best looking for lightweight SMGs, and you can get enhanced barrel, mag, weapon mods and origin traits to improve further at Tiers 4 and 5. You can see the in-game effect of stat changes at https://d2foundry.gg/w/2770035786 for yourself. Look for some extra range with the barrel perk, without any penalties. Then, to maximise firing time, look for a heatsink perk that reduces heat generation. In the first trait perk column, Attrition Orbs spawns a power orb after 20-22 hits, depending on the heatsink perk, within 5s of each other to proc armour mods, while in the second Target Lock stacks up to 5 times on repeated hits within 0.2s of each other for up to ×1.4 damage at 110.33% of base magazine capacity - so should proc if you can time your manual vent correctly. The Fleet Footed origin trait is probably more useful for PvP, stacking up to ×1 on hits and ×2 on kills to boost movement speed and Airborne Effectiveness for a refreshable 5s (6s enhanced). If you're lucky, you'll drop one with the rare Accelerated Assault origin trait which provides 10% cooling and ×1.05 damage when you hit 3 times with 0.8-1.2s between each hit. Master of ArmsInspired by https://www.youtube.com/@cammycakesgaming (PvP PvP-KillChain PvP-God M+KB Controller): God-roll PvP for kill-chaining. M-17 "Fast Talker" is, at time of writing, an S-Tier primary option for CQC. It's a Heat weapon - which means you get an ersatz Reconstruction for free from the passive cooling - with a rapid-fire fire rate. The Balanced Heat frame provides a ×2 vent rate if you manually vent when weapon heat is >87.5%. The @hugowo_ spreadsheet at https://www.destiny2.science/, shows the optimum TTK at base as 0.667s (10c1b) - increasing the weapons stat to 174 makes the TTK easier (9c2b), and at 186 the TTK is 0.600s (10c0b) - if you can hit your crits with an SMG! The 80% crit accuracy-adjusted TTK is 0.733s (9c3b), which at 162 weapons is easier (8c4b). The stats are good compared to other lightweight SMGs and make this one of the best SMGs in the game. You can see the in-game effect of stat changes at https://d2foundry.gg/w/2770035786 for yourself, once the formulas have been worked out. For the barrel perk, Extended Barrel or Chambered Compensator take Recoil Direction to 95 - if you're using Shrewd Survivor armour for the two-piece Reflex Action set bonus this boosts Handling and Accuracy. For the battery perk, the best option is Projection Fuse to increase Range. For a duelling roll, Delicate Tuning in the first trait perk column works like a Heat weapon's mirror to Closing Time, boosting Range, Handling and Accuracy when a weapon's cold with the benefits reducing to half at 50% heat. For kill-chaining, Sword Logic, Kill Clip and Master of Arms can all shave a bullet or two off your TTK. The Imperial Allegiance origin trait is situationally useful if you're near one, two or three teammates when heat is >50%, boosting both cooling efficiency and damage by up to ×1.105, but Accelerated Assault is probably better, proccing 10% cooling and ×1.05 damage when you hit 3 times with 1.2-4s between each hit. Bakris Hunters can make this really potent at 3 stacks of Light Shift, or Strand Titans can generate a Diamond Lance after 3 kills. As a pairing in the second column we can use Tap the Trigger, which for 0.6s (0.76s when enhanced) after a trigger pull provides +40 Stability, ×0.5 recoil and ×0.9 Accuracy Cone size. With a high enough weapons stat, this buff should last as long as your TTK, combining 100 Range, 89 Stability, halved recoil and the Lightweight frame boosts. You can see the gunplay for this in Lego's video. The Fleet Footed origin trait is useful for PvP, stacking up to ×1 on hits and ×2 on kills to boost movement speed and Airborne Effectiveness for a refreshable 5s (6s enhanced). Accelerated Assault sounds good, providing 10% cooling and ×1.05 damage when you hit 3 times with 0.8-1.2s between each hit, but it takes at least 1.6s to proc, so you're not likely to see any benefit within a normal TTK window. In the first trait perk column there's Dynamic Sway Reduction which provides small boost per shot, maxing out after 10 shots (8 when enhanced) at +10 Stability, with additional boosts to accuracy cone growth and accuracy cone size to help keep hitting crits, until you release the trigger or vent. As a pairing in the second column Master of Arms boosts damage at one stack by ×1.15 after a kill with any weapon for an optimum 0.600s TTK (10c0b - at 194 weapons stat that 9c1b) for 7s (8s enhanced). Another kill with MoA active to get the second stack boosts damage to ×1.25 for a refreshable 4s (5s enhanced) giving you a 9c1b 0.600s TTK, made easier at 124 weapons stat (8c2b) and a faster 0.533s optimum TTK at 139 weapons (9c0b). Once the second stack timer runs out, you'll drop back down to the timer for one stack to repeat the process. Kill ClipInspired by https://www.youtube.com/@Legoleflash (PvP PvP-KillChain PvP-God M+KB Controller): God-roll PvP for kill-chaining. The M-17 "Fast Talker" is, at time of writing, an S-Tier primary, which Lego describes as "an ultra-accurate bullet hose in PvP", demonstrated in his video (https://youtu.be/LldDti54Gwo?si=9j382iCFlMJE7tuF). The @hugowo_ spreadsheet at https://www.destiny2.science/, shows a base TTK of 0.733s (11c1b) - this is made easier (10c2b) at 175 weapons state, and a faster 0.667s TTK (11c0b) at 186 weapons. The 80% crit accuracy-adjusted TTK is 0.800s (10c3b), made easier (9c4b) at 164 weapons. For this kill-chaining god roll, look for all range with barrel and mag perks. As a pairing in the second column Kill Clip boosts damage by ×1.25 for a refreshable 5s (5.5s enhanced) by manually venting (even just briefly) within 3.6s of a kill, giving you a 9c1b 0.600s TTK, made easier at 124 weapons stat (8c2b) and a faster 0.533s optimum TTK at 139 weapons (9c0b). Recommended MW: Range, with a Range mod.
